Distance from the beginning of the eco-trail through Goren Alekov waterfall with end: Lower Alekov waterfall – about 1.30 hours.
Degree of difficulty – mild.
The beginning of the eco-trail to Alekovi waterfalls starts from the Dragalevtsi Monastery. There is a parking lot for several cars in front of it, as well as a larger parking lot a little further up the road.

The path to Alekovi waterfalls starts after the monastery on the left. There is a nice picnic lawn with wooden tables and benches on the other side of the road.
In the beginning there are protected trees surrounded by wooden fences.

There is a fork, where you turn left in the direction of Simeonovo. Unfortunately, the sign is missing here.

Today it was slightly rainy and we had the pleasure to meet 9 rain salamanders and 2 nimble squirrels. The interesting thing about the rain salamanders was that they always climbed the same side of the slope up, hmm!

Also, in the beginning, there are 2 bridges in an unenviable condition, which can still be used to cross the river on the road.

The eco-trail passes under the Dragalevski lift, it is easy and pleasant for walking with children and pets.
Before the Upper Alekov Waterfall, there is a small rock platform on the left with a large stone as a landmark, which reveals a beautiful view of the city.

If you want to continue to the Simeonov Lakes, see this article.
How to get to the Lower Alekov waterfall from Alekovi waterfalls?
To reach the Lower Waterfall, return to the path to Dragalevtsi, and after about 5 minutes turn right on a path that goes down the slope.

After descending the path you reach the parking lot of an old hospital. From there, take a sharp right on a steeper path.
The distance to the waterfall is within 10 minutes. In the middle there is again a playground with a bench and a view of the city.
Above the waterfall there is also a small rock platform with a beautiful view.
Enjoy!
